A Message from ENYGO Chair

THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF ENYGO AND EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

Dear colleagues and friends,
In my capacity as the elected ENYGO Chair, it is my great pleasure to introduce my vision for ENYGO, the European Network of Young Gynaecological Oncologists, ESGO's vibrant network of 700+ young gynaecological oncologists, focused on improving the quality of training for gynae-oncology fellows.

Together with my Colleagues, David Lindquist and ENYGO's elected executive board, including Tanja Nikolova, Andrei Pletnev, İlker Selçuk, Dimitris Vlachos and Maximilian Lannerwe, aim to further advance ENYGO's involvement and initiation to shape the future development of our subspecialty.

In 2018, ENYGO activities will include:

  • A series of ENYGO workshops in gynaecological cancers: Palliative Care in Gynaecological Cancer Patients workshop, April 13-14, 2018, in Sweden, and in the second half of 2018 two workshops, the first dedicated to Ovarian Cancer in Italy, and the second a basic hands-on workshop on Robotic Surgery in France.
  • Literature for ENYGO, LiFE Report, a summary of unique reviews covering the most relevant articles for young professionals.

The LiFE report is published twice a year published as a supplement of IJGC and is available for a free download on the ENYGO website. The next issue is scheduled for April 2018 and will summarize articles published between August 2017 and February 2018.

On this occasion, I would like to acknowledge the continuous work and efforts of all the authors and editors that took part in the LiFE project.

In 2018, ENYGO will have an active role in the design of key educational projects, such as the "Best of ESGO 2017", a slide deck of the key findings of 15 selected studies from ESGO 2017,  for a presentation at national gynae-oncology events.

Another project is the ESGO eAcademy. ENYGO has been invited to join the Editorial Committee of the ESGO e-Academy led by Prof. Denis Querleu, to design the new layout and content of the educational portal.

Our voice will be considered in regards to the new European Gynaecological Oncology Board Exam.

In addition, ENYGO is involved in professional development programs, such as Travelling Fellowships, the ESGO Subspecialty Accreditation, the program for young professionals at the ESGO’s events, and more.

As for the subspeciality training programme, ENYGO is involved in the preparation of the eLogbook tool, which will enable trainees to monitor their performance of surgical procedures and compare their progress with peers across Europe.

In 2018, ENYGO plans to start new projects including:

  • A series of interactive educational webinars focused on guidelines and complex patient cases,
  • ENYGO/ESGO Masterclass for Young Generation Leaders that will shape the future of our field,
  • A series of new scientific publications in cooperation with ENGAGe, and more.

Don't miss the special opportunities for young professionals in 2018,
see you at one of the ENYGO events or get involved in our current and future projects and join ENYGO!

Sincerely,
Kamil Zalewski
ENYGO Chair
