Elections ENYGO Executive Group Elections 2026-2030 Every two years, ENYGO conducts elections for the ENYGO Executive Group (EEG). This year, we have four (4) positions opening on the EEG for 2026-2030. In order to align their governance with ESGO and to foster a more democratic process, ENYGO has made some changes to the election process. As part of these changes, ENYGO has granted direct voting rights to all ENYGO members. We encourage all ENYGO members to get involved in the upcoming election, whether it be self-nominating or exercising your new right to vote and having your say in the future of the network. Below you can find all details regarding the EEG self-nomination application process, including eligibility, timeline and FAQs. Who can apply All ESGO members in good standing (meaning they have paid their fees for 2025 membership) are eligible to self-nominate. Note we are not opening the non-European geographical voting group in this election round, as our non-European EEG member will remain in their seat for another two years as per their elected term. The following eligibility criteria applies: The candidate must have valid ESGO membership. The candidate must have a medical degree. Residents in gynaecology & obstetrics may apply only if they are in their final year of residency. The candidate must not be older than 38 in the election year.* This means candidates are ineligible if they are born before 1 January 1988. The candidate must have a permanent working position of fifty per cent (50%) or more of Full Time Equivalent (FTE) in Europe to be considered as a European member. The candidate should have a clear vision on how he/she would like to contribute to the ENYGO mission not only within his/her region but on the European level and worldwide. The candidate must be willing and able to dedicate significant time to EEG duties, including participation in meetings, working groups, and strategic projects. The candidate must have an excellent command of the English language. The candidate should not have a critical conflict of interest, either financial or functional conflict with similar position at other society (European or International) with a similar mission as ESGO or ENYGO. * The elections 2026 are in a transitional period which means the current National Representatives who are older than 38 years old can apply for an EEG membership position. How to apply To submit your candidacy for the ENYGO Executive Group 2026–2030, you must complete the official online application form via the ESGO REDCap platform. As part of the application, you will be asked to: Complete a questionnaire outlining your qualifications and experience, including a motivation statement (max. 250 words) and brief summary of your CV (max. 600 words). Upload the following supporting documents: A recent photo (JPEG format) A list of your publications Complete a Conflict of Interest (COI) form. All eligible ENYGO members have been approached to submit their self-nomination via a dedicated email. Voting Process Every ENYGO network member, regardless of their country of practice, who holds active ESGO Full Membership may vote in the EEG Elections. Voters may cast one vote for each available seat. Voting will be available via an online platform. Electronic voting will open mid-January 2026. More information in relation to the voting process will become available in the coming months. ENYGO Officer Elections 2026-2028 At any one time, ENYGO has three EEG Members, collectively known as ‘Officers’, in the following positions: President Past President Vice-President Throughout the 2026 ESGO election cycle, the positions of President and Vice-President will be voted upon by the current EEG. Who can apply for Officer positions? EEG Members who have already served exactly two years in EEG may apply for the position of the ENYGO President or Vice-President. These positions will be elected for a fixed two-year period. Upon expiry of the term of office of the ENYGO President, the ENYGO President shall automatically become the ENYGO Past-President for another two years. The election of the ENYGO President and Vice President will be held on November 20, 2025 and the results will be announced via social media and the ENYGO website. What positions must be filled and how long are the terms? Expand Four (4) ESGO Members in good standing who are eligible will be elected to the EEG. The term of service of the new EEG members is four years commencing from the ESGO 2026 Congress. How does ENYGO ensure diversity and inclusion on the EEG? Expand ENYGO values an inclusive and diverse council. The Nominations Committee will review all applicants and develop a final slate of candidates with a focus on high quality candidates whilst ensuring a gender and geographical balance. Can I apply if I’ve already served as an EEG Member before? Expand No. Each EEG Member serves for one term to ensure the leadership of ENYGO remains dynamic and diverse. However, we highly encourage all ENYGO members to remain engaged with ESGO and ENYGO initiatives and volunteering opportunities. How does the review process work? Expand The Nominations Committee will conduct a thorough review process of all applications received. These will be graded against consistent scoring criteria, and the Committee will prepare a final slate of candidates. These candidates will be notified and provided with next steps. What are the main responsibilities of an EEG Member? Expand EEG Members play a varied and diverse role in the leadership of ENYGO. Responsibilities include: Regular online and personal meetings Electing Officers (President, Vice-President) Overseeing committees, networks, and working groups Involvement in ENYGO and ESGO projects How much time does service on the EEG require? Expand If elected, you can expect a moderate time commitment. EEG Members are expected to actively participate in working groups, committees, and contribute to different projects. They are also expected to act as ESGO ambassadors and travel on behalf of the society to accreditation visits etc. Are there conflict of interest (COI) rules? Expand Yes. EEG Members must disclose conflicts and abstain from related votes. What’s new in the ENYGO elections? Expand In order to align ENYGO governance with ESGO and foster a more democratic process, we have made some changes which will provide increased opportunities for all ENYGO members to be involved in the leadership of the network. This includes granting all ENYGO members direct voting rights, giving everyone a fair and democratic voice in shaping the network’s future. Additionally, in the 2026 election we will not be opening a new call for National Representatives. The existing National Representatives will continue fulfilling their role until ESGO Congress in February 2026. We encourage all ENYGO members to engage with ESGO and ENYGO’s various existing programmes and projects as we are always seeking volunteers. Why can current National Representatives apply to be EEG Members regardless of age? Expand To honour the prior agreement that National Representatives can apply to be EEG Members after 2 years, the age requirement will not apply to National Representatives who would like to self-nominate for the EEG in the 2026 election.
